Integrated Marketplace: Heavy-Duty Low and Zero Emission Vehicles Trucking Project

For trucking and logistics operators in British Columbia, transitioning to low or zero emission vehicles can be challenging due to high upfront costs, uncertain performance, and operational risk. The Integrated Marketplace: Heavy-Duty Low and Zero Emission Vehicles Trucking Project is designed to address those concerns by giving fleets a practical way to test cleaner truck technologies in real-world conditions before committing to full-scale adoption.

Delivered by Innovate BC through its Integrated Marketplace program, this pilot initiative brings together industry, government, and regional partners to accelerate the shift toward lower-emission freight transportation. The project focuses on hands-on testing within the Port of Prince Rupert, where participating trucks are deployed across short-haul drayage routes as well as a longer corridor between Prince Rupert and Terrace. By operating in an active logistics environment, the program helps generate valuable data on costs, performance, charging or fueling needs, and day-to-day operational impacts of low and zero emission trucks.
