Local hydro companies, technology providers, consulting firms, industry associations, educational institutions, and public sector organizations have all been involved in past projects. Funding is non-repayable and can reach up to roughly $2 million per project, helping offset the cost of development, testing, and implementation for initiatives that may be too risky or capital-intensive to pursue alone. Projects are typically selected through open calls or targeted calls that address specific system challenges or emerging opportunities.
