Accelerating Innovations Into CarE (AICE) – Tech for Healthy Aging

By GrantHub Research Team ·

For Alberta-based innovators working on technology that helps people age safely and independently, bringing a promising solution from concept to real-world use can be a major challenge. The Accelerating Innovations into CarE (AICE) – Tech for Healthy Aging initiative is designed to bridge that gap by supporting the development and commercialization of technologies that improve health, independence, and quality of life for older adults and their caregivers.

Delivered by Alberta Innovates in collaboration with AGE-WELL, Canada’s technology and aging network, this priority funding stream supports small and medium-sized businesses developing health and life sciences innovations with strong commercial potential. Projects may focus on early-stage concepts that need to demonstrate feasibility, or more advanced solutions ready for validation and refinement. Funding of up to a few hundred thousand dollars is available on a non-repayable basis, helping offset costs related to product development, clinical or user validation, and preparing technologies for market entry. Beyond financial support, selected projects benefit from guidance and evaluation by experts with both business and clinical experience.

This program is particularly relevant for healthcare, medical, and digital health companies in Alberta aiming to scale solutions that support aging in place. For businesses exploring whether their technology and growth plans align with this opportunity, reviewing the full program details can clarify the next steps and potential fit.
