Offered by Gouvernement du Québec, Ministère de l'Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs
For agricultural and agri-food businesses in Quebec, limited access to three-phase power can be a major barrier to growth, modernization, and electrification. Operations that rely on high-capacity equipment often need three-phase electricity to expand production, improve efficiency, or move away from fossil fuel-based energy sources. The Three Phase Network Access Program was created to address this challenge by helping rural businesses connect to or extend the three-phase electrical network so they can move forward with new projects.
Delivered by the Québec government through the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks, the program provides non-repayable funding to offset a significant portion of the costs associated with accessing three-phase power. Support can reach up to roughly $250,000 for network extensions, with smaller amounts available for direct connections, depending on the scope of the project. Funding can help cover electrical equipment, engineering and professional services, and required contributions to the electricity distributor, making large infrastructure upgrades more financially realistic for eligible farms and agri-food enterprises.
By enabling access to cleaner, more efficient electricity, the program also supports Quebec’s broader energy transition goals, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions in rural areas. Applications are currently being accepted, and businesses considering electrification or expansion projects may benefit from reviewing the full program details to see how this funding could support their plans.
