Offered by Alberta Innovates
For healthcare organizations and digital health innovators trying to move beyond pilot ideas and into real-world use, finding the right support can be a major hurdle. Digital4Health (D4H) is designed to help bridge that gap by backing collaborative projects that test and implement technology-enabled care models within Alberta’s health system. Delivered by Alberta Innovates, the program focuses on practical solutions that respond to clearly defined system needs, from improving patient access to making care delivery more sustainable and citizen-focused.
D4H centres on collaboration between health service delivery partners and technology solution providers, creating space to generate real evidence around what works in clinical and operational settings. Funding of up to around $200,000 per project is available on a non-repayable basis, typically supporting implementation, evaluation, and learning over a multi-month period. The program operates through both targeted partner challenges, where specific system priorities are identified, and a project stream that accepts applications on an ongoing basis from qualified partnerships ready to deploy a solution. This makes it particularly relevant for SMEs, larger enterprises, and nonprofits working in healthcare and life sciences.
By emphasizing real-world testing and measurable impact, Digital4Health helps innovations move closer to adoption and scale across Alberta’s healthcare system. Business and health leaders considering this opportunity may want to explore how their solution aligns with current system challenges and program expectations before applying.
