Offered by BioTalent Canada
Finding skilled early‑career talent can be a challenge for biotech, clean technology, and environmental organizations, especially when budgets are tight. The BioTalent — Science Horizons Youth Internship program helps Canadian employers bring on emerging STEM professionals while significantly reducing the cost of hiring. Delivered by BioTalent Canada and available nationwide, this initiative supports organizations that want to grow their teams while contributing to the development of the next generation of environmental and science-focused talent.
Through the program, businesses and eligible organizations can hire a post‑secondary graduate for a structured internship lasting roughly six to twelve months. A large portion of the intern’s wages is covered, with funding support of up to about $25,000, making it easier to take on scientific or technical roles tied to environmental outcomes. The program is well suited to companies working in the bio‑economy, life sciences, and clean tech fields that can provide meaningful mentorship and hands‑on experience. In some cases, additional support may also be available to offset training or skills development costs, helping interns become productive team members more quickly.
With new openings for the 2025–2026 period and applications currently being accepted, this wage subsidy can be a practical way to grow capacity while investing in future talent. Exploring the full program details can help determine whether this opportunity aligns with your hiring plans.
