Offered by Protein Industries Canada
Breaking into Asia-Pacific food markets can be challenging for Canadian food and ingredient companies, especially when products need to be adapted for new consumers, regulations, and distribution channels. The Asia-Pacific Market Entry Program is designed to help plant-based food and ingredient businesses move from interest to action by reducing the cost and complexity of preparing for commercial entry into key Asian markets. Delivered by Protein Industries Canada in partnership with Singapore’s Nurasa Food Tech Innovation Centre, the program focuses on practical, market-ready outcomes rather than high-level theory.
Open to eligible small, medium-sized, and larger companies across Canada’s food and beverage sector, the program supports businesses at different stages of export readiness. Participants can access tailored market insights, product formulation and optimization support, and connections to commercialization partners in the region. Depending on the stage of entry, companies may assess market fit, refine their value proposition for specific Asian markets, or prepare products for launch using Nurasa’s advanced facilities and industry network. Funding is non-repayable and can cover up to roughly three-quarters of eligible project costs, helping offset expenses tied to development, testing, and market preparation.
For Canadian plant-based companies aiming to diversify exports beyond traditional markets and establish a foothold in Asia-Pacific, this program offers both financial support and hands-on expertise. Exploring the full details can help determine whether this opportunity aligns with your growth and international expansion plans.
